What the Role Delivers
The Field Service Technician ensures reliable, high-quality delivery of AgroFresh products and application services by supporting both equipment performance and postharvest processes in the field and packing house environments. The successful candidate delivers operational excellence, product performance, and customer confidence by combining technical expertise, field support, and a proactive approach to quality and service.
Key Responsibilities In order of relative importance
Develop, build, and install application equipment
Assist Customer’s staff resolving technical issues with application equipment
Source materials and equipment needed for installations
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
Directly support Packers by monitoring fruit/vegetable processing and conditioning lines
Monitor and optimize fungicide, cleaner and coatings applications in packing houses
Perform routine verification of packing house sanitation practices for prevention of postharvest decay
Implement trials for development of emerging AgroFresh products as well as current products
Draft reports on packing house monitoring programs
Review current and proposed industry practices
Maintain positive relationships with AgroFresh employees, customers and other contacts
Occasional overnight travel and early morning or late evening hours.
Mixing and monitoring of postharvest products including but not limited to wax, fungicides, sanitizers, & cleaners.
Train AgroFresh distributor sales and technical personnel
Assist in the development and costing of Bills of Material to support sales staff

What the Job Requires
AA or Technical degree, work experience considered in lieu of degree
Mechanical aptitude for application equipment installations and repair
Fabrication skills, cutting, and welding
PLC programming and troubleshooting
Computer literate including Microsoft Word and Excel
Clean driving record mandatory

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
History of Customer and internal customer focus and success
Mechanical aptitude or equipment experience especially in Ag post-harvest industry a plus
