We’re working with a growing industrial equipment manufacturer seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to support installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of automated packaging and industrial machinery throughout customer sites across the region. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys travel, solving technical problems in the field, and working independently with strong support from an experienced engineering and service team.

Job Details

Responsibilities

Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair industrial packaging and processing equipment at customer facilities
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls-related issues
Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation
Perform preventative maintenance and emergency service work
Support startup activities, testing, calibration, and machine optimization
Train customers on equipment operation and basic maintenance procedures
Document service activity, repairs, and recommendations clearly
Coordinate with engineering and internal service teams to resolve technical issues efficiently

Qualifications

Experience as a Field Service Technician, Maintenance Technician, Industrial Electrician, Controls Technician, or similar industrial service role
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities
Experience with PLCs, sensors, VFDs, motor controls, and industrial automation equipment
Ability to read schematics and technical manuals
Comfortable traveling to customer sites regionally and occasionally overnight
Strong communication and customer service skills
Packaging, automation, food manufacturing, material handling, or industrial equipment experience is highly preferred

Preferred Technical Experience

Allen Bradley or Siemens PLC troubleshooting
Hydraulics and pneumatics
Conveyor systems
Servo motors and motion controls
Machine startup and commissioning
Industrial automation equipment
