Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, develop, and update controller and operator parameter settings to optimize the performance of high-speed and high-performance industrial door systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues involving door systems and related production equipment.
  • Develop, maintain, and document electrical wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical support to the Sales team for custom applications and PLC programming when required.
  • Collaborate with European engineering teams to support products in the U.S. market.
  • Work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers as well as production management to resolve technical issues and improve products.
  • Perform technical evaluations, root cause analysis, and prepare written reports documenting findings and recommendations.
  • Provide technical support to dealers and end users via phone, email, and other communication methods.
  • Conduct technical training for Regional Sales Managers, dealers, installers, and customers.
  • Assist with in-house dealer and installer training programs.
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites to troubleshoot equipment and provide hands-on technical support.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities and technical documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with new product implementation as needed.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Service Technician in an industrial manufacturing, assembly, or related environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred

  • Experience with SAP and Salesforce.
  • Experience supervising or leading technical personnel.
  • German and/or Spanish language skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for customer support and training.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb as needed.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, including overnight travel when required.
  • Ability to work safely around industrial equipment and machinery.
