The Opportunity

As the Field Service Solutions Manager – HVAC at Integra, you will serve as the lead technical authority and solution architect for all HVAC systems tied to our modular data-center and mission-critical infrastructure deployments. Embedded across our manufacturing and delivery network (e.g., Akron, Harrow, Houston, and other facilities), you will drive HVAC technical excellence, ensure quality commissioning and field performance, support the field service organization, and champion continuous improvement across factory design, installation, testing, and after-sales support. This role blends hands-on technical expertise, remote and on-site support, training, cross-functional collaboration, and client/vendor engagement — all to uphold Integra’s commitment to reliability, safety (SafeState), and superior service.

What you will do?

  • Embedded Factory & Equipment SME
    • Be stationed (embedded) at Integra’s manufacturing/assembly facilities (Houston) to build deep knowledge of HVAC equipment produced for our modular systems.
    • Support factory testing, commissioning, and QA processes — ensuring HVAC systems meet performance and reliability standards prior to release.
    • Provide feedback to design and manufacturing teams on recurring issues, design improvements, and lessons learned from field performance.
  • Field Support & Technical Escalation (L2)
    • Serve as the Level 2 technical escalation point for field service operations (where Level 1 support is provided by field leads).
    • Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and resolution support for complex HVAC problems encountered in the field.
    • Travel to customer and site locations, as needed, to support field teams and ensure successful system performance.
  • Installation, Maintenance & Repair Oversight
    • Oversee and participate in installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, repairs, and performance tuning of HVAC systems delivered by Integra.
    • Ensure compliance with codes, manufacturer specifications, and Integra’s safety standards (SafeState). Integra Mission Crititcal
    • Document all service work, findings, repairs, and recommendations in clear, detailed service reports or commissioning records.
  • Training & Development of Field Service Team
    • Lead the design and delivery of technical training (factory-based and field-based) for new and existing Field Service Technicians.
    • Coach, mentor, and reinforce best practices on-site — ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to safety and service standards.
    • Drive continuous improvement of the training program: update training materials, integrate lessons learned, and adapt to new equipment or technologies.
  • Client, Vendor, and Stakeholder Interface
    • Act as the technical representative for Integra’s Field Service group during complex customer or vendor calls and escalations.
    • Communicate clearly and effectively about system conditions, root-cause analyses, recommended solutions, and action plans.
    • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, project management, and quality assurance teams to resolve systemic issues, coordinate improvements, and align on product enhancements.
  • Recruiting & Team Growth Support
    • Support the interviewing, screening, and technical evaluation of new Field Service Technician candidates to help grow and strengthen the team.
    • Provide technical input and feedback in the hiring process to ensure candidate skill sets align with Integra’s high standards.
  • Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
    • Proactively identify recurring field and factory challenges and lead root-cause analysis efforts.
    • Implement corrective actions, design changes, and process improvements to enhance equipment reliability, maintainability, and serviceability.
    • Promote and enforce safety, compliance, and documentation standards across all service operations, consistent with Integra’s “SafeState” safety culture.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated HVAC expertise with ability to handle complex commercial/industrial HVAC systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, comfort reading technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, refrigeration and controls documentation.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and train technician-level staff.
  • Excellent communication skills — capable of translating technical issues for clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel frequently (factory sites, customer locations, field teams), including overnight or extended stays as necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on HVAC field service or service-engineering experience (commercial/industrial environment preferred).
  • Prior experience working with mission-critical HVAC systems, data-center cooling, or large-scale commercial HVAC deployments is highly desirable.
  • Experience providing technical support (on-site and remote), ideally including escalation-level troubleshooting (L2), commissioning, or system start-up.
  • Demonstrated experience in training or mentoring technicians, developing training materials, or contributing to continuous improvement of service practices.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, project management, or QA teams — ideally in a vertically integrated or modular-build environment.
  • High school diploma or GED minimum.
  • Preferred: Formal HVAC trade school, technical school diploma, or relevant engineering/technical coursework.
  • Additional coursework in controls systems, refrigeration, HVAC design, or building systems preferred.
