As a Field Service Engineer at Azenta, you will be on the front lines of our technology, working directly with customers to keep critical systems running reliably and efficiently. You will play a hands-on role in installing, maintaining, and improving advanced equipment while building trusted relationships with customers and internal teams.
You will develop your technical expertise, sharpen your troubleshooting skills, and contribute directly to customer satisfaction and business success; all while working in a collaborative, safety‑focused environment with opportunities to grow.
What you’ll do…
Install, modify, repair, conduct preventive diagnosis, and perform maintenance on the software and hardware of the equipment and systems while adhering to Azenta's policies, procedures and work direction of supervisor or shift/site lead.
Interface with customers to ensure contract SLA & customer satisfaction levels are maintained with terms of the service agreement/provision
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by conforming at all times to Azenta's and customer’s work protocols and policies.
Attain Equipment Service and Operation Certification on equipment and systems as defined
Submit reports, such as Service and Status Reports, on all support activities as defined and required.
Productively react to changing priorities such as Tool or Line down and escalations and support organizational and administrative duties.
Adopt PoC for both customer and internal Azenta Management
Provide weekly system performance summaries that reports number of system events (weekly, monthly, and rolling), issue pareto analysis, and root cause / corrective actions.
Additional KPI measurement requests throughout the contract period will be considered.
Assist with sample migration (initial transfer from old format to new format and load into customer Store)

We are looking for a technically skilled, customer‑focused Field Service Engineer who enjoys solving problems in real-world environments and takes pride in delivering reliable service.
Required Qualifications
Associate of Science (AS) degree, technical certificate, or equivalent hands-on technical training
Minimum of 5 years of relevant technical experience, or equivalent military technical training
Strong electrical and mechanical fundamentals
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English (reading, writing, and speaking), including effective interaction with customers and internal teams
Valid driver’s license, good driving record, reliable transportation, and ability to obtain a valid passport during employment
Ability to successfully pass background screening requirements
Must be located on the US East Coast with convenient access to a major airport for frequent travel.
Technical & Professional Skills You’ll Use
Proven troubleshooting skills, using a structured and methodical approach to diagnose system issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Ability to work independently in the field while prioritizing issues based on urgency, customer impact, and business needs.
Strong sense of ownership and commitment to resolving problems through to completion.
Comfort working with computers and standard business software, including Windows-based operating systems.
Experience documenting work through service reports, system updates, and performance summaries.
Familiarity with Oracle or similar systems is a plus, but not required.
Working conditions
Domestic (and occasional international) travel will be required
On rare occasions, availability for on-call coverage, holiday, or weekend work may be needed
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders or scaffolding, and safely use required personal protective equipment (PPE)

United States Base Compensation: $39.50 - $49.50
The posted pay range for this position is an estimate based on current market data and internal pay structure.
