Job Overview

The Field Safety Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring occupational safety and regulatory compliance across job sites in Virginia. This position will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining safety policies and procedures, conducting training, and collaborating with field teams to promote a safe work environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and experience in safety management in construction or industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and enforce safety programs at field locations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections, hazard assessments, and audits.
  • Deliver safety training and presentations for employees and contractors.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety complaints, providing thorough documentation and recommendations.
  • Assist with the development of safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Keep up-to-date records of safety activities and associated documentation.
  • Promote a culture of safety through proactive communication and engagement.
  • Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to resolve safety issues.
  • Monitor and manage the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety supplies.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and drills.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety coordination or management in construction, industrial, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and state safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct safety inspections and training.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple sites within Virginia.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.

Certification(s) such as OSHA 30,
