Responsibilities:

The Safety Coordinator provides coordination support by developing, implementing, and managing safety programs and protocols, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company standards, reducing risks, performing incident investigations, delivering training, and maintaining safety documentation. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Implement and maintain safety policies (OSHA, EPA, ANSI, DOT) across HVAC installation, service, and maintenance teams. 
  • Monitor compliance through audits, jobsite safety visits, and field/facility safety inspections. 
  • Conduct safety orientations for new hires and regular training sessions—toolbox talks, PPE use, emergency drills. 
  • Develop site-specific training materials and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs). 
  • Lead accident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and follow-up corrective measures. 
  • Maintain OSHA logs, incident records, and communicate findings to management. 
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and enforce corrective actions at project sites. 
  • Track safety KPIs (e.g., incident frequency, audit completion rates). 
  • Coordinate procurement and distribution of PPE. 
  • Ensure material safety data sheets (SDS) are current and understood. 
  • Maintain safety records, files, and reporting systems (e.g., Avetta, ISNetworld). 
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies during audits. 
  • Work with technicians, operations, contractors, and vendors to reinforce safe practices. 
  • Support service and installation quality standards during onsite visits. 
  • Embodies the CoolSys CARES culture (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Empowerment, Safety). 
  • Performs all other duties as assigned 
Qualifications:

Education / Training 

  • High school diploma or GED 

Work Experience / Skills 

  • 2-3 years of HVAC, construction, or industrial safety role experience. 
  • Excellent customer service skills with both internal and external customers. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and in writing   
  • Detail-oriented  
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment  
  • Proficient typing skills to properly document dictation to update systems  
  • Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws.  
  • Ability to use typical business tools including E-Mail, Word, Excel, etc.
