Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Field Research Intern to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in field research support, data collection, and adherence to safety and standard operating procedures and a proven ability to deliver accurate, high-volume work in outdoor and repetitive task environments.Responsibilities:Research plot maintenance, including hoeing, counting, and stakingDisease inoculation and/or insect infestation per protocolSeed discarding in compliance with guidelinesPlant tagging and labeling accuracyLeaf and plant samplingIrrigation setup and tear downField data collection and basic recordkeepingGeneral housekeeping and site organizationRequired Skills & Qualifications:Detail orientation with consistent accuracy in repetitive tasksBasic understanding of written and spoken English preferredEffective communication with supervisor and team membersAbility to follow standard operating and safety proceduresPreferred Skills:Competency performing accurate work in a repetitive motion environmentExpectations of Employment:Able to complete repetitive tasks for extended periodsSelf-motivated with a positive attitudeMust be 16 years or olderWillingness to travel; occasional driving may be requiredWillingness to work more than 8 hours per day, including travel time to offsite locationsWillingness to work up to 7 days per week during peak periodsSchedule availability from early morning through eveningAbility to work around soybeans, corn, pollen, and dust for long periodsAbility to work outdoors in varied weather conditionsAbility to walk, stand, and crouch for several hours at a timeAbility to walk on uneven groundAbility to work at overhead and ground-level heightsReliable and punctual attendanceReliable transportation to workPersonal phone use limited to breaks except in emergenciesAbility to meet minimum performance standardsIf driving is required: valid driver's license, clean driving record, and willingness to meet required checksWhat We Provide:All required personal protective equipmentWhy BCforward?At BCforward, we believe in advancing lives and careers.
