Help

Conducts interviews primarily in person (door to door) and when requested may conduct phone interviews to SC data as required within an assigned geographic area. Communicates with respondents, supervisors, and other persons as appropriate. Understands SC materials in order to explain the purpose of the SC, ask questions as worded on the questionnaire and enters accurate and complete information onto SC forms. Canvass and travel around an area in an organized manner to find and verify living quarters. Maintains personal payroll records that reflect hours worked, miles driven, and reimbursements for travel and communications claimed. Completes and attends in-person training.

You must maintain a residence within the area of consideration, as listed in this announcement, that will serve as your duty station. You must be 18 years old. You must be a US Citizen. You must have good hearing and the ability to read small print. You must be in good physical condition to drive, climb stairs, and walk for extended periods. You will occasionally be required to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs. You must be willing to work days, evenings, and weekends. You must be willing to work a varying number of hours per week. You must be willing to occasionally travel overnight for training and work assignments. You must have access to a vehicle (or public transportation) so that you can complete work throughout the assigned geographic area. You must establish and maintain a safe work environment in your residence. You must be willing to use all methods of communication (face to face, phone call, emails, letter, etc.). You must have access to a landline or mobile phone. You must be suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation. You must be registered for Selective Service at the time of hire, if applicable, (www.sss.gov). You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. A one or two-year trial period is required (dependent upon veterans status). This is a NON-BARGAINING unit position.

Qualifications

Applicants must have one year of general experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility as described below.

General experience is being progressively responsible in clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.

OR

2 years of education above high school. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for which both education and experience are acceptable. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Additional information This is a time-limited appointment with a 180 day not-to-exceed date. At any time, you may be extended or released at management discretion. This position has a mixed-tour work schedule. A mixed-tour work schedule provides for periods of full-time, part-time, and/or intermittent work to accommodate fluctuating workloads. The candidate(s) selected for this position must sign an agreement outlining the conditions of employment prior to appointment.

You will be required to complete a Declaration for Federal Employment (OF-306) to determine your suitability for Federal employment and to authorize a background investigation.
