Schedule: Monday - Friday full time 40 hours, overtime, overnight and / or weekend hours may be required
Location: Leominster, MA
Travel Requirement: up to 100% travel throughout the state of MA and surrounding areas
Pay Range: $70,000 to $90,000 per year
Job Overview
The Field Project Manager I will be responsible for managing projects from initiation through completion, ensuring successful execution both administratively and in the field. Key responsibilities include coordinating with clients and general contractors, directing field crews, maintaining project schedules and budgets, resolving on-site issues, and ensuring all work meets company standards. This role requires a hands-on leader who takes full ownership of project outcomes and consistently delivers high‑quality results on time and within budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Project Management
- Plans, coordinates, and manages multiple projects simultaneously from start to finish.
- Develops and maintains project schedules, budgets, and timelines.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, and internal teams.
- Ensures all project documentation, reporting, and communication is accurate and up to date.
- Proactively identifies risks and implements solutions to keep projects on track.
- Maintains accountability for overall project performance and outcomes.
Field Operations
- Regularly attends job sites to oversee project execution and ensure quality standards are met.
- Coordinates and directs field crews to ensure efficient and accurate completion of work.
- Acts as the bridge between field teams and project requirements.
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues in real time to prevent delays.
- Ensures compliance with safety standards, company procedures, and client expectations.
Client & Contractor Coordination
- Builds and maintains strong working relationships with clients and general contractors.
- Participates in site meetings, walkthroughs, and project updates.
- Ensures clear and consistent communication across all stakeholders.
- Addresses and resolves client or field concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Operational Execution
- Ensures projects are executed in alignment with company standards and expectations.
- Assists in improving internal processes, workflows, and project execution strategies.
- Collaborates with leadership to identify efficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong ability to manage projects while actively participating in field operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with clients, contractors, and crews.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Proven problem‑solving ability, especially in fast‑paced field environments.
- Ability to take ownership and operate independently with minimal oversight.
- Proficiency with project management tools, scheduling software, and general computer applications.
- Working knowledge of construction, electrical systems, or low‑voltage/security systems preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma required
- 1-3 years of experience in low‑voltage systems (installation, service, integration, or related technical fieldwork).
- 1-3 years of experience in project management, field operations, or a similar hybrid role.
- Experience in construction, trades, or related industries strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating crews and managing projects simultaneously.
Licensing Preferences
Because this position includes direct oversight of technical field work, troubleshooting, and compliance with state regulations, the following credentials are preferred:
Massachusetts
- A D‑License (Systems Technician) or B‑License (Journeyman Electrician) preferred
Connecticut
- A C‑5 Limited Electrical Contractor license preferred.
- Other relevant low‑voltage credentials, such as a C‑6 Limited Electrical Journeyperson, are also acceptable.
Candidates must already possess one of these licenses or obtain the appropriate credential within a company‑approved timeframe. Maintaining the license in good standing is a condition of employment.
