Work Tasks to be performed

• General Christmas tree farm work. Planting, pruning, spraying, and harvest.
• Land preparation includes picking up sticks and rocks.
• Planting seedlings is done using shovels.
• Weed control is done by applying herbicides using backpack sprayers.
• Pruning of trees is done using knives and pruning shears. Pruning may be done from the ground or from ladders.
• Trees are trained using sticks and ties.
• Harvest requires the packing of trees out of the fields, shaking the trees to remove dead needles using shaker, baling the trees using baling equipment, transport of trees on trailers and the loading of trees into trucks.
• Packing out trees may include hooking/unhooking trees in slings. Workers must exercise care to avoid damage to trees and equipment.
• Other farm responsibilities include area clean-up and road maintenance.

Job Requirements

The employer will furnish, without charge, tools, supplies and protective equipment required to perform the specified work.

Crop and Pay

This is an application for General Christmas tree farm work.

Hourly wage is $17.13. The payroll period shall be weekly.  The offered wage rate is the highest of AEWR, the prevailing hourly/piece rate, the agree-upon collective bargaining wage or the federal or state minimum wages at the time work is performed. These rates are subject to change and may increase during the period of this contract. In all cases, the highest of the AEWR, prevailing hourly/piece, the agreed-upon collective bargaining. Wage, the federal or state minimum wage will be paid to workers for the payroll period. Current AEWR $17.13.

Work Schedule
35 hours a week. 6 hours a day Monday – Friday, 5 hours on Saturday. 6:00am to 1:00pm. It is the prevailing practice to work more or different hours than those listed. The worker may be offered, but not required, to work more hours.

Transportation
Transportation costs to the job site for domestic workers from outside the local commuting distance of the job site will be reimbursed by the employer after 50% of the contract period. Transportation costs from the job site to the workers home will be provided to those domestic workers that complete the entire contract period.

Housing

Employer agrees to provide for or secure housing for workers and those workers in corresponding employment who are not reasonably able to return to their residence at the end of the workday. That housing complies with the applicable local, State, or Federal standards and is sufficient to house the specified number of workers requested through the clearance system. The employer will provide the housing without charge to the worker.

Vivienda

Meals

Employer agrees to provide each worker with three meals a day or furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities to the workers that will enable the workers to prepare their meals. Where the employer provides the meals, the job offer will state the charge to the worker for such meals is $16.28 per day per worker.
