Job Summary
The Field Engineer will support execution of a federal healthcare construction project. This role will assist in document control, RFI management, as-built documentation, and PMIS Project Management Information Systems administration, while supporting field coordination and compliance with Government contract requirements. The Field Engineer will play a key role in maintaining accurate project documentation, supporting quality control processes, and ensuring alignment with USACE standards and procedures.
Primary Job Functions
Document Control & Submittals
- Maintain and control project documentation including drawings, specifications, submittals, and correspondence
- Ensure proper version control and distribution in accordance with contract requirements
- Support submittal tracking and coordination using Government systems
RFI Management
- Prepare, log, and track RFIs
- Coordinate with subcontractors, field staff, and design team to ensure timely resolution
- Maintain accurate RFI records within PMIS platforms
As-Built Documentation
- Assist in development and maintenance of as-built drawings
- Coordinate with field teams to ensure accurate and timely updates
- Supporting documentation requirements
PMIS Administration (Project Management Information Systems)
- Administer project data in systems such as USACE RMS/QCS and Procore
- Maintain accurate logs for RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and deficiencies
- Ensure compliance with Government reporting requirements
Field & Quality Control Support
- Assist with daily reporting, field documentation, and coordination activities
- Support the Quality Control (QC) process in alignment with USACE CQC requirements
- Participate in inspections, deficiency tracking, and resolution
Meetings & Coordination
- Participate in project meetings and maintain meeting minutes
- Support coordination between project stakeholders including Government representatives
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field required
- Three (3) years of construction experience required
- One (1) plus year experience with USACE projects or federal construction environments preferred
- Basic understanding of construction documents and project delivery processes
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and develop within a federal construction environment
- Familiarity with RMS/QCS systems
- Exposure to Procore or similar PMIS platforms
- Knowledge of CQC (Construction Quality Control) processes
- Basic understanding of EM385-1-1 safety requirements
Working Conditions
- Active construction site environment
- Must be able to walk job sites, climb stairs/ladders, and work in varying weather conditions
- Standard site safety requirements apply
