As a Field Engineer / Estimator, you will work hand in hand with our Superintendents and Project Managers to build the industry knowledge and leadership skills needed to advance yourself in the construction, fabrication, and maintenance industry. Join us today and realize your potential.Job ResponsibilitiesWork closely with team to ensure we are meeting the job specifications.Review data to determine material type and size then prepare itemized lists.Purchase, expedite and receive material to ensure proper quantity and quality are received.Perform material take offs and ensure proper quantity is ordered in a timely manner to meet the job deadlines.Resolve any problems with materials that are not correct.Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare fabrication bids.Ensure that assembly and installation is correct and to specifications.Generate drawings or sketches required to support fabrication.Quantify job quantities using on screen and manual take off tools.Assemble estimates into project estimates for intermediary budgeting and bid day submittals.Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.Visit the site of the fabrication, making note of the geographical features of the site and access to infrastructure (roads, electricity, sewer).Take into account all the materials, personnel, and any other resources needed to complete fabrication.Responsible for maintaining relationships with suppliers and equipment vendors. These relationships are used to keep track of current pricing and to negotiate better rates.Work seamlessly with superintendents, subject matter experts, and project management.Job QualificationsMechanical or Construction Management degree preferred or a minimum of 2 years of experience. This experience can be from past internships you have held.Must have good communication skills, verbal and written, with all levels from client, management to workers and subs.Must have good computer skills; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometrics, shop drawings, and safety rules.Self‑directed with strong organizational skills, attention to details.Strong math and analytical skills in regard to cost/pricing of material, labor and equipment.Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines.Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.Experienced with Timberline estimating software highly preferred.Candidate may be required to pass a drug test and Criminal background check based on job location/requirements.We strive to provide a competitive compensation and benefits package.
