Position SummaryThe Field Engineer will serve as engineering support for our sales team, assisting with construction management and after‑sales field support. This role requires frequent travel to job sites throughout a specific territory and will be based at our sales office in Dallas. The position will include both field and office work.A Day In The LifeThis role encompasses a wide variety of tasks, each day presenting different challenges. Projects span the entire lifecycle of design, procurement, coordination, and post‑sale support.Primary Job ResponsibilitiesEstimated 50%–75% of time spent in the field on job sitesSupport installations and equipment startups to ensure high‑quality outcomes and adherence to engineering principlesHandle complex troubleshooting issues and provide immediate solutions in the fieldCoordinate with CaptiveAire team, contractors, engineers, installers, and service personnelConduct on‑site construction trade coordination meetings and startup activitiesReview and analyze data from installed equipment to inform product improvements via the CASLink remote monitoring systemApply mechanical building design knowledge to review customer applications and suggest operational improvementsProvide third‑party training to outside contractors on CaptiveAire productsPrepare reports for the Regional Manager and other teams on customer feedback, challenges, quality, and product improvementsTravel as required for training and field dutiesRequired Skills0–5 years of relevant experience4‑year technical degree in mechanical, electrical, construction, or science‑oriented curriculum preferredHands‑on technical internship or co‑op experience preferredStrong hands‑on product exposure and HVAC and/or electrical experience strongly preferredExcellent multitasking, problem‑solving, and communication skills requiredExpectation of FE Exam completion within 6 months for engineering graduatesMust be able to travel for trainingBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insuranceDisability and life insurance based on election of medical insurance401(k) with employer matchPaid holidays and PTO based on tenureFlexible spending account (FSA)Tuition reimbursement, including Professional Engineering (PE) License supportRelocation assistanceSalary$70k–$100k base, negotiable based on experience, with an additional monthly bonus tied to productivity and profits.Equal OpportunityCaptive‑Aire Systems, Inc. is an equal opportunity workplace.
