Field Engineer/Construction AdministratorBR+A Consulting Engineers is seeking a Field Engineer/Construction Administrator to join our team in New York, NY. This role exercises oversight during the construction phase of building systems engineering projects and requires 5‑15 years of experience, strong organization, excellent writing and computer skills, and a professional, team‑oriented demeanor.ResponsibilitiesImplement approved system concepts during construction.Manage construction‑related aspects of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering and maintain positive client relationships.Communicate with the Project Manager/Project Engineer regarding potential problems and engineering assistance required from the design team.Coordinate with other construction trade disciplines and the architect.Attend meetings as required, working to submit the required documentation per project deadlines and milestones.Perform field work and verify existing conditions and newly installed mechanical and electrical systems.Review, process, and return electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection submittals and RFIs.Work with clients to review punch lists and help resolve design and installation issues.Required SkillsFunctional working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, building automation systems, and system design & construction processes.Ability to work directly with architects, owners, and construction manager representatives in a hands‑on training role for functional understanding of systems.B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering.P.E. license is a plus.Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and/or DDC building automation systems is a plus.Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.Good understanding of MEP engineering concepts, design, and spatial requirements.Able to think three‑dimensionally.5‑15 years of experience.Able to physically access and navigate job sites of various sizes to conduct field investigations.Physically capable of climbing ladders to view overhead mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment.Detail oriented and deadline‑driven.Able to manage time to meet deadlines.Prior experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC system integration, Building Management Systems, and Air/Water Testing and Balancing disciplines is a plus.HVAC engineering experience preferred.Prior experience with construction management software such as Procore and Newforma is a plus.BenefitsCompetitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, life, and disability insurance coverage.401(k) plan match.Generous paid time‑off.BR+A is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
