Field Engineer Responsible for managing construction inspection activities for assigned municipal transportation and infrastructure construction projects.Under the supervision of a licensed engineer, performs civil engineering and construction inspection duties, including on-site observations of construction installations.Works closely with municipal agencies and stakeholders to coordinate and implement project documentation and control activities of the construction engineering field office and field inspection personnel. Duties include preparing and processing progress payments, implementing change orders, and performing document control functions in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and specifications.Reviews project schedules, budgets, engineering drawings, specifications and procedures to ensure compliance and oversees general administration of construction project field office.Develops and reviews daily inspector reports, ensuring document control, quality assurance documentation and construction project records are maintained. Performs field quality control inspections at project and client sites, ensures quality and uniformity in the records of contracts, manages submittal and change order processes, and enforces project management plans and guidelines.Positional duties require extensive utilization of specialized document control and engineering software applications, including Civil 3D, E‑Builder and AutoCAD. Position is based at STV offices in Charlotte, North Carolina and requires approximately 90% of travel time to client project sites throughout the Eastern U.S.Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a minimum of five years of progressive experienceMaster's degree in civil engineering with coursework in traffic engineering and highway design may be used to satisfy up to two years of required experienceBenefits Full benefits package.
