Locations: Keene, New Hampshire

Assists with installation, testing, inspection, repairs of electrical equipment and associated facilities within Transmission and Distribution substations and associated lines.
Starting Rate of Pay: $37.29 per hour
Regular Duties:
Assists with installation, testing, inspection, repairing and maintenance of electrical equipment such as oil switches, circuit breakers and associated switchgear, transformers, reclosers, motors, control cables, regulators and Loadbuster tools.
Assists with repairs, adjustments, maintenance, and installation of all types of line switches and motor operators.
Performs less complicated switching, grounding, and tagging for which qualified at Transmission and Distribution substations and associated lines to facilitate maintenance, operation, and restoration of service.
Performs inspection of all equipment in Transmission and Distribution substations, records appropriate data in Cascade computer database.
Assists with inspection, cleaning and maintenance of substation, motor operator batteries and other battery installations within the Division.
Assists with maintenance of equipment in underground network system.
Assists with installations and repairs of electronic controls for reclosers, regulators and capacitor switches.
Inspects various substations to ensure that the station is, in compliance with current Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) plans.
Assists System Electricians.
Performs snow removal and other general maintenance, including landscaping around stations and substations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
Associate Degree in Industrial Electricity and/or the successful completion of a recognized apprentice program, or equivalent in combined education and work experience.
Other requirements include the ability to perform math functions, operate testing equipment and hand and power tools, interpret electrical drawings, work from elevated positions and within confined spaces, follow instructions and work under limited supervision. Individual will be required to successfully complete the EEI CAST aptitude test.
Required Skills:
Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity; color distinction. The ability to: communicate effectively and follow instructions; climb and work on ladders and elevated structures.
Preferred Skills:
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
License(s)/Certificate(s):
Must possess and maintain a VALID Motor Vehicle Operator's License required with Medical DOT certification.
Bargaining unit employees with rights to this posting will be given first consideration.
This is a union represented position so anyone going into this position would be required to become a member of the union.
