This role ensures effective project execution by aligning staffing, schedules, safety, and customer expectations while serving as a key escalation point for field delivery challenges. The FCT Lead works closely with project managers, project leads, and company leadership to ensure consistent, high‑quality outcomes across projects.Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Workforce PlanningLead, mentor, and develop the Field Controls Technician team through clear direction, training, and performance management.Provide ongoing, constructive feedback and support professional development.Forecast staffing and skill requirements; coordinate training to align workforce readiness with business demand.Assign FCT personnel to projects based on skills, experience, preferences, and project requirements.Monitor morale, workload, and team dynamics; support engagement, retention, and conflict resolution.Manage team member compensation, time off, and performance reviews.Project Execution & Risk ManagementCoordinate with leadership, project managers, and trade partners to deploy field resources effectively.Serve as an escalation point for field execution challenges, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and customer requirements.Track, document, and communicate project requirements related to safety, workflow, and billing.Customer & Stakeholder EngagementCommunicate with customers and stakeholders in a professional, positive, and proactive manner.Follow customer‑specific site standards and procedures.Provide responsive, patient, and effective support to resolve customer issues.Maintain accountability through consistent follow‑up and fulfillment of commitments.Field Expertise, Safety & QualityDemonstrate strong field experience with an understanding of construction site roles, contracting tiers, and associated trades.Champion safety policies in both office and field environments.Practice company Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and produce clear, accurate documentation.Adapt effectively to changing project, site, and team demands.Maintain a collaborative and open mindset, especially when addressing differing viewpoints.Tools & Technical FoundationsDemonstrate proficiency with Microsoft operating systems and Office tools.Possess a foundational understanding of control system design and system integration concepts.Education & ExperienceBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline; equivalent technical and leadership experience may be considered.Typically 7+ years of relevant field controls, automation, or technical leadership experience.Required Skills & AbilitiesDemonstrates credibility, integrity, and trustworthiness with peers and stakeholders.Actively removes obstacles to enable team and project success.Builds effective cross‑functional relationships to achieve business objectives.Communicates priorities, context, and the broader objectives of projects and tasks.Listens effectively and understands the needs of team members and stakeholders.Committed to continued development of managerial and leadership capabilities.Travel & AvailabilityOvernight travel may be required up to 50%.Participation in an on‑call rotation may be required based on location and client needs.Work Authorization & Other RequirementsProof of eligibility to work in the country where the position is located.Maintain a valid driver's license.Maintain fitness for duty at all times.Our CultureAt Thermo Systems, we model our three core values daily: Drive Employee Success: Support your colleagues and foster a positive team culture.
