Job Title: Fiber Technician / Lead Installer
Fiber Technician / Lead Installer (BICSI INSTF)

Position Summary
Leads small crews and performs advanced fiber optic installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting while ensuring quality and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead crews of 2-4
Plan daily work, sequence tasks
Validate fiber test results and documentation
Walk jobsite with supervisors/owners
Support warranty documentation
Perform mechanical and fusion splicing
Conduct OTDR and power meter testing
Build MDF/IDF rooms and fiber management
Patch management standards
Basic networking concepts (patching, VLAN awareness)

Required Qualifications

4–6 years structured cabling experience
Proven leadership capability

Preferred Qualifications

BICSI Installer 2 — Fiber (INSTF)
Fusion splicing certification
Manufacturer fiber training
Networking fundamentals training
