Position Summary
The Fiber Optic Aerial Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment to support aerial fiber construction and maintenance activities. This role requires safe and efficient operation of digger-derricks, pressure diggers, skid-steers, mini-excavators, and related utility equipment. A strong focus on safety, precision, and teamwork is essential.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate digger-derricks safely and efficiently. • Operate skid-steers to support aerial fiber construction tasks. • Operate mini-excavators as required for project needs. • Support aerial fiber construction and maintenance operations. • Set and remove poles, anchors, and overhead attachments. • Assist linemen and groundmen with material handling and jobsite setup. • Adhere to all company safety standards and jobsite protocols. • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on assigned equipment. • Operate bucket trucks when needed.
Qualifications
Valid Class A CDL required. Experience operating bucket trucks, digger-derricks, and heavy equipment. Knowledge of utility or fiber construction environments. Strong safety record and situational awareness. Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug testing. Willingness to travel based on project requirements. Electrical distribution experience is a plus but not required.
