Responsibilities include overseeing and evaluating the quality of work performed by contract vendors as well as coordinating, planning and supervising the daily activities of technical personnel engaged in the design, construction, operation, maintenance and ongoing support of the fiber network.   **POSITION REQUIREMENTS:**[]{#_Hlk198621795} Job Specific requirements: - Must have 7+ years of current and proven supervisory experience in relevant broadband industry. - Must display a proficient knowledge in fiber project management, plan design, construction, and maintenance. - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent of education and work experience, **required.** - Must display an expert understanding of fiber outside plant construction and maintenance - Must display a skilled understanding of broadband technology. - Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to interpret construction maps and splice diagrams, read and understand complex documents. - Must be able to effectively train and lead others. - Must be able to manage time, method, and sequence of work for self and others and deal with a variety of people under differing circumstances. - Must be willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends when needed or in emergency situations, as Singing River Electric is considered by the Department of Homeland Security to be an Essential Service Provider.  **JOB OVERVIEW:** - Oversee day-to-day plant operations for Singing River Electric's fiber distribution system. - Supervise and support outside plant fiber construction and maintenance activities. - Responsible for making recommendations to Supervisor of Project Engineering to develop and maintain processes and procedures for peak operational efficiency. - Maintain current knowledge of fiber construction practices, standards, and equipment; make recommendations for change/modification as appropriate. - Serve as key liaison between the Business Operations department and fiber operations personnel to ensure effective coordination and communication, for the efficient delivery of highest-quality fiber services to subscribers. - Oversees fiber construction and operations, including new construction, relocations, splicing, and repairs by SRE and contract labor crews. - Responsible for the accuracy of Singing River Electric's fiber work order process from initiation to completion. Responsible for creating work orders for maintenance and construction, as necessary. - Understand, manage, and enforce construction contract requirements including invoice reconciliation with the construction drawings and invoice approval. - Works with Fiber Inventory Coordinator to manage requirements for fiber optic operations including invoice approvals and assistance with new material specifications. - Oversee external fiber contract labor including but not limited to mainline, splicing, and service drop installations. - Collaborate with Business Operations to maintain and continuously improve procedures for restoring fiber services during both isolated and widespread service disruptions. - Must collaborate with electrical distribution managers to ensure safety and compliance with established policies and procedures. - Oversee correction of damages, safety hazards, and outage coordination. - Suppor s plant maintenance and operational planning. - Assists and coordinates, with electric operations, large electric projects that affect the outside fiber plant. - Assists with the coordination of highway and railroad permits from controlling authorities for property easements as needed for fiber construction and operation. ** ** Do NOT fax, email or drop off resumes at any Singing River Electric office. ** ** *Singing River Electric is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer.
