Purpose Statement/Position Summary:

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to investigate novel immunotherapeutic targets in preclinical models of Ewing sarcoma. This position is based in the laboratory of Dr. Christopher Kuo within the Cancer and Blood Disease Institute (CBDI) at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, in affiliation with the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct independent and collaborative research under the guidance of the Principal Investigator. Responsibilities include performing laboratory experiments, analyzing data, and publishing findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals. The fellow will also participate in seminars, meetings, trainings, and other educational activities to support professional development.

Dr. Kuo's laboratory focuses on dissecting the tumor microenvironment in Ewing sarcoma, with particular emphasis on immune-tumor cell cross-talk. Research approaches include the use of novel zebrafish models, human tumor specimens, and cancer cell lines.

This position offers a rich training environment designed to develop the academic knowledge, research expertise, teaching skills, and foundational experience necessary for a successful independent research career. The fellow will benefit from collaboration with a broad network of investigators studying the tumor microenvironment at CBDI, The Saban Research Institute at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, and the Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center at USC.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: Exposure to and/or experience in research in a healthcare environment preferred.

Preferred:

  • Strong background in immunology and molecular biology

Education/Licensure/Certification: MD and/or PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree. Applicants must have completed their doctoral degree by their anticipated start date.

Pay Scale Information

$71,760.00-$85,155.20
