Federal Work Study Student Worker - Financial Aid/Veterans Affairs

Description Financial Aid/VA work-studies will work in Craven First Stop and will be involved in answering phones, providing helpful information to students, and assisting current and prospective students as needed. This position aids Admissions Specialists, Advisors, and Financial Aid Officers in creating a comprehensive system of student support within Student Services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Answers college phone lines and transfer calls • Assists Students/Parents with completing FAFSA • Helps filing and VA processes • Checks students in to First Stop • Assists students with the enrollment process, including but not limited to: • Completing residency determination and the CFNC application • Obtaining high school transcripts • Answering general financial aid questions • Helps students log in to their Craven accounts • Schedules Financial Aid and Veteran Affairs appointments • Uses email and the Teams messaging system to communicate between departments • Takes or directs students to other buildings on campus • Supports staff in daily tasks as needed (Admissions, Advising, Financial Aid, Student Life, and Records) • Maintains a clean lobby area • Helps prepare for college events • Hosts tours for prospective students • Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications Student must meet Federal Work Study eligibility requirements to apply as well as any academic department requirements. Hours available include (must not conflict with current class schedule): Monday through Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
