| Position Overview | |||
The Force Development Staff Support Officer (SSO) provides Army G-8 leadership with expert analysis, validation, and recommendations across the requirements, acquisition, and modernization domains. This role is responsible for developing investment strategies, reviewing JCIDS and acquisition documentation, and preparing executive-level briefings that inform decisions on future capabilities. Designated as key personnel with TS/SCI clearance, the SSO ensures alignment with Army modernization priorities—including robotics, artificial intelligence, synthetic training environments, and advanced autonomous systems—while sustaining situational awareness of assigned programs and resourcing needs. Drawing on operational experience in combat, combat support, or combat service support formations, the SSO plays a pivotal role in shaping and advancing Army force development and modernization initiatives. | |||
