As District Manager at United Rentals, you'll be the leader of a major business enterprise. You will be responsible for directing the management of multiple locations within an assigned geographic area dedicated to meeting the equipment rental needs of the construction industry, industrial and commercial companies. You will lead the district towards achieving revenue and profitability goals, growth objectives, market share penetration, operational excellence and employee satisfaction.

What you'll do:

  • In conjunction with the Regional Vice President, establish financial goals for all branches within the district

  • Direct the planning and implementation of budgets at the branch level, provide guidance and input to Branch Managers

  • Coordinate and oversee district sales efforts and business initiatives, provide coaching and guidance to branch management and Outside Sales Reps

  • Partner with region finance team to evaluate and interpret results in all KPI areas, develop recommendations for corrective actions

  • Collaborate with Region Fleet Director to improve fleet optimization, participate/provide input on auctions, trade packages, etc.

  • Collaborate with Branch Managers and Regional Sales team to evaluate market trends, key accounts/customers, business conditions and competitive practices

  • Collaborate with the Region Safety Manager to ensure the support of prescribed safety programs, including audits, safety training, OSHA compliance, and DOT regulations

  • Ensure business operations are in accordance with Company Policy and Procedure Bulletins

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of work experience

  • Minimum 7-10 years progressive management experience, with oversight of multiple units with P&L responsibility

  • Significant sales and customer service experience

  • Knowledge and experience in the equipment rental industry is preferred

  • Proficient computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office

  • Superior leadership, customer service, presentation, analytical and verbal/written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on negotiating, collaborating and conflict resolution

  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.

Responsabilités complémentaires (liste non exhaustive) :

  • En collaboration avec le vice-président régional, établir des objectifs financiers pour toutes les succursales du district

  • Collaborer avec les directeurs de succursale et l'équipe commerciale régionale pour évaluer les tendances du marché, les comptes/clients clés, les conditions commerciales et les pratiques concurrentielles

  • Collaborer avec le/la responsable régional(e) de la sécurité afin d'appuyer les programmes de sécurité réglementaires, notamment les audits, les formations de sécurité, la conformité OSHA et la réglementation du DOT

  • S'assurer que les opérations commerciales sont conformes aux bulletins sur les politiques et procédures de l'entreprise

Exigences du poste :

  • Baccalauréat ou combinaison équivalente d'expérience de travail

  • Minimum 7 à 10 ans d'expérience en gestion progressive, avec supervision des profits et des pertes de plusieurs unités, et responsabilité en la matière

  • Expérience significative en vente et en service à la clientèle

  • Connaissance et expérience dans le secteur de la location d'équipement sont privilégiées

  • Excellentes aptitudes informatiques avec expérience avec Microsoft Office

  • Sens de leadership, service à la clientèle, présentation et compétences en matière d'analyse et en communication verbale et écrite

  • Solides compétences interpersonnelles en mettant l'accent sur la négociation, la collaboration et la résolution de conflits
