Office Services of Columbia is seeking an experienced and motivated Farm Manager to oversee operations across multiple farm locations throughout South Carolina. Position Summary
The Farm Manager is responsible for the overall management and performance of several farm locations throughout South Carolina. This hands-on leadership position requires balancing field operations, workforce management, budgeting, equipment oversight, and administrative responsibilities.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can effectively manage multiple priorities, lead teams, and adapt to the changing demands of agricultural operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations across multiple farm locations, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and quality standards are consistently achieved
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise full-time, part-time, and seasonal farm employees
- Coordinate planting, harvesting, equipment utilization, and crop production activities
- Monitor crop and livestock health, when applicable, and implement best practices to maximize yields and sustainability
- Manage equipment, maintenance schedules, inventory, and operational resources
- Maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers
- Ensure compliance with all agricultural, environmental, labor, and workplace safety regulations
- Develop work schedules, operational procedures, and performance expectations across locations
- Track budgets, labor costs, expenses, and production metrics while providing regular reports to leadership
- Identify and resolve operational challenges related to weather, staffing, equipment, and production demands
- Travel regularly between farm locations to provide leadership, oversight, and support
Qualifications
Required
- Previous experience managing farm operations, agricultural teams, or related agricultural businesses
- Strong knowledge of farming practices, equipment operation, and workforce management
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to effectively oversee multiple locations, projects, and priorities simultaneously
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Comfortable working in both field and office environments
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively throughout South Carolina
- Proficiency with basic computer applications, including email, scheduling, spreadsheets, and reporting tools
Preferred
- Experience managing medium-to-large-scale or multi-location agricultural operations
- Knowledge of South Carolina agricultural practices, crops, and growing conditions
- Experience supervising seasonal and full-time agricultural labor
- Background in budgeting, forecasting, inventory control, and operational reporting
- Agriculture, Agribusiness, or related education and training
