Job Overview
As a Family Support Specialist, I conduct outreach to families referred through Central Intake or service providers and use standardized screening tools to determine eligibility for home visitation services. I interview parents using the Parent Survey to assess strengths and risk factors, helping families set goals, develop plans, and enhance their problem-solving and advocacy skills. Additionally, I support healthy child development by monitoring growth milestones and connecting families with community and healthcare resources as needed.
Program Info
The Healthy Families program provides in-home education and supportive services to new and expectant parents. Home visitors work to link parents to existing social service and health care resources, and promote positive parenting and healthy child growth and development. The program typically lasts from pregnancy through the child’s 3rd birthday. Services are currently available in English and Spanish.

ACENDA has over forty years of active-duty Navy/Joint/Coalition experience with an additional 40 years as a DOD contractor working with the Navy Warfare Development Command and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center. ACENDA has demonstrated expertise in Experimentation, Exercises, CONOPS, Concepts, Doctrine, Operations, Communications, Joint/Coalition Senior Staff, Logistics, Health Services Support, Mine Warfare, Management and Administration. ACENDA possesses security clearances up to and including TS/SCI.
CONSULTING EXPERIENCE
2002-Current: Exercise/Experiment Director and Deputy Director for events including Limited Objective and Limited Technical Experiments, workshops, seminars, large Command Post Exercises and Field Exercise/Experiments. These events include Concept Development, Doctrine Development and Analysis. Participants: Navy/Maritime Military, Joint Military, Coalition Nations, and Civil Agencies. Primary focus areas have been Command and Control, Ballistic Missile Defense, Integrated Air and Missile Defense, Strike Warfare, Unmanned air, undersea and surface vehicles, Distributed Netted Systems, Anti-Submarine Warfare, Large Area/Global Concept of Operations, Maritime Domain Awareness, Global Maritime Awareness, Red Team, Health Services Support, Mine Warfare, Joint/Navy Command Organization and Relationships, and the technologies, systems and processes involved with the above.
