PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Physician is responsible for the delivery of patient care services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of medical care to individual patients in a variety of setting including clinic, hospital and nursing facilities. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Education: Board Certified/Board Eligible M.D.; D.O. Required License: An unrestricted Kentucky Medical License. ORGANIZATIONAL EXPECTATIONS: Professionalism Maintain competency and knowledge of current standards of practices, protocols, and procedures of the position, department, and applicable professional standards. Complies with organizational and regulatory policies for handling confidential patient information. Adheres to professional standards, clinic policies and procedures (OSHA, HIPPA, Standing Orders, etc.), federal, state, and local requirements, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of the Inspector General (OIG), etc. Cooperates fully with all aspects of Corporate Compliance Plan and Standard of Conduct. Participates in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team. ACCOUNTABILITY: Accountable to the Chief Medical Officer, and ultimately the Chief Executive Officer. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: A position exempt from wage and hour laws; requires hours in excess of 40 per week including night and holiday work from time to time. Work is performed in health care environments including, medical office, hospital and nursing home with exposure to communicable diseases. Position may include possible exposure to aggressive or violent patients, and requires the ability to work under stressful conditions, often for long periods of time.
