JOB SUMMARY:
The Family Medicine Physician with Obstetrics (OB) will provide comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages in a rural health clinic and critical access hospital setting. This includes full-spectrum family medicine with surgical obstetrical care, encompassing prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and gynecologic services within scope of training and privileges.
Responsibilities include direct patient care in the outpatient rural health clinic, inpatient care, and on-call obligations for the critical access hospital, including surgical obstetrical and pediatric call coverage. The physician will participate in quality assurance programs, peer review processes, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. The position also entails involvement in administrative tasks, utilization review activities, and attendance at clinic, department, and hospital meetings as required by Livingston HealthCare Medical Staff Bylaws.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, including preventive care, routine check-ups, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions.

On-call Critical Access Hospital OB coverage typically includes eight 24-hour shifts per month, providing obstetric call coverage, supporting labor and delivery needs, newborn care as appropriate, and coordinating stabilization and transfer when a higher level of care is needed. 7. On-call Critical Access Hospital pediatric coverage may include 0–3, 24-hour pediatric call shifts per month, depending on staffing and overall call coverage needs. Pediatric call responsibilities include newborn resuscitation, stabilization and transfer of critically ill pediatric patients, pediatric admissions with comprehensive inpatient care, and coverage of the “Kids Care Line,” which supports family phone calls from the clinic.
Total expected call coverage for a full-time provider is approximately eight shifts per month. In some months, OB providers may take one to three pediatric call shifts in place of obstetric call shifts to help balance departmental coverage needs.

9. Monitor patients’ health status, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and provide ongoing support to promote disease control and quality of life.
10. Manage chronic conditions across the lifespan, including care of aging populations and medically complex patients.
11. Support care transitions, ensuring continuity between inpatient, outpatient, and specialty services.
12. Provide patient-centered education and counseling, empowering patients to make informed healthcare decisions.
13. Participate actively in Livingston HealthCare’s quality assurance and performance improvement programs.
14. Engage in peer review and ongoing professional development activities.
15. Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, credentialing requirements, and continuing education.
16. Complete all required administrative tasks, including accurate and timely documentation for clinical and billing purposes.
