Position Summary:

Our outpatient family medicine team supports these initiatives by providing full spectrum family medicine in its purest formcaring for an entire village.
While our clinic system is based in Bethel, Alaska, most of our 30,000 patients live in smaller, outlying subsistence communities spread across an area the size of Oregon. Each physician panel (capped at 1,300 patients) is constructed around one or two of these villages. Physicians primarily see their patients in Bethel, but also travel to their continuity village(s) by small plane at least four times annually. Position Responsibilities:
Entrusted with the medical care of patients under the Corporate Mission and in conformity with the administrative policies, procedures, and protocols of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital.
- Provide full spectrum outpatient medical care to patients from infancy to elder care.
- Maintain conformity with the administrative policies, procedures, and protocols of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital.
- Serves YKHC loyally, diligently, and effectively at all times to exert their best efforts to promote the success of YKHC.
- Accepts membership on staff committees as assigned and to participate in the activities, deliberations and decisions of those committees within the context of the best interest of the patients, the Corporation and the Medical Staff.
- Contributes to the training programs of Medical Students and Residents for clinical rotations at the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital.
- Abides by the Medical Staff By-Laws, policies and procedures.
- Exhibits a professional, gracious, warm, and caring manner with patients.
Position Qualifications:
- Must have completed an accredited medical school.
- Must have completed a residency training program and be board eligible or board certified by the appropriate board of the American Medical Association or the American Osteopathic Association.
- Must have or be able to obtain an Alaska State License and DEA License.
- Must have computer skills needed to access computerized medical records.
- Needs the skills and knowledge to practice medicine in the area of their specialty.
- Ability to supervise medical students and residents.
