Working for this leading academic medical center means collaboration with top clinical, technical and business professionals across all disciplines.Program Summary:
Start your primary care career with support. This unique role hires APPs into the Primary Care APP Onboarding Program at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, which is a structured 6–12-month transition-to-practice program designed to help new PAs and NPs confidently enter outpatient primary care. Participants receive full compensation from day one while benefiting from intentional preceptorship, weekly didactics, and dedicated procedural training. The program is staffed by three physician leads and three APP leads who serve as preceptors without their own patient schedules, ensuring consistent supervision and support. Patient templates gradually ramp up over six months, helping clinicians build competence and confidence. This model promotes patient safety, clinician well-being, and a smoother transition from training to independent practice.
You will complete your Family Medicine APP Onboarding Program at one of our two training locations; either Family Medicine Strasburg or Family Medicine Twin Rose.
After 6 months of training, the APP will see patients in a full-time capacity while interviewing for a permanent location within Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. The APP may transition to their permanent site anytime between 6 and 12 months.
