Job Description

  • Support attorneys in all phases of New Jersey family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, alimony, equitable distribution, domestic violence, mediation, and related cases.
  • Draft pleadings, correspondence, subpoenas, interrogatories, affidavits, motions, and other family law documents.
  • Prepare cases for hearings, mediation, settlement conferences, and trial, including exhibits, witness coordination, deadlines, and logistics.
  • File court documents through New Jersey e-filing systems and maintain accurate, organized case files.
  • Manage attorney calendars, court dates, client meetings, deadlines, and case follow-ups.
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and internal team members.
  • Assist with Case Information Statements and financial discovery materials.
  • Keep electronic and paper files organized, current, and easy for the legal team to access.
  • Help deliver a calm, responsive, and positive client experience during sensitive family law matters.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of New Jersey family law paralegal experience required.
  • Experience drafting family law pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and court filings.
  • Working knowledge of Case Information Statements required.
  • Familiarity with New Jersey e-filing systems strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Teams.
  • Strong organization, writing, follow-up, and time management skills.
  • Professional communication style with clients, courts, attorneys, and opposing counsel.
  • Ability to stay calm, detail-focused, and solutions-oriented in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Paralegal certificate preferred, but not required.
  • Spanish fluency is a plus, but not required.
