Position Summary:
The Family and Community Engagement Liaison serves as a liaison between families and the school to build each entity's capacity to make school environments welcoming, strengthen two-way communication, facilitate and encourage respectful interactions, and increase shared power and responsibility. This position supports and strengthens the partnership between the school, families, and community to positively impact student achievement and overall school performance.
The Family and Community Engagement Liaison will be responsible for connecting families to District and community supports, as well as developing: 1) relationships with families that foster trust between families and the school, 2) leadership, advocacy and involvement among the parent/caregiver community, and 3) opportunities for families to support their student's education to enhance academic achievement and attendance, as defined by Federal guidelines.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Length of work year: In person, 7.5 hours per day; 5 days/week; 12-Months

KCPS Defined Benefit Pension plan - mandatory 9% contribution is required from employee and matched by KCPS; Voluntary retirement savings plans are also available.
