Job Opportunity: Pediatric Urologist

Our organization is looking for a dedicated Pediatric Urologist to join our Department of Urology. This full-time position offers a clinical appointment at the academic, master-clinician, or tenure track level, either as an Assistant or Associate Professor, depending on the qualifications and criteria set by the department and the University.

About the Division

Our team of physicians and nurse practitioners specializes in pediatric urology, addressing a wide array of health issues. These range from common ailments such as bed-wetting and urinary tract infections to more complex conditions like congenital malformations. We cater to both infants and older children, providing in-utero treatments for unborn babies when necessary. Our expertise includes managing hypospadias, urinary obstruction, urine reflux, renal stones, and voiding dysfunction. Additionally, we collaborate with the only multidisciplinary center in the region that offers comprehensive care for children with disorders of sexual differentiation.

Position Responsibilities
  • Engage in clinical and/or basic science research.
  • Provide patient care in pediatric urology.
  • Fulfill certain administrative responsibilities.
  • Work at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital and maintain an outpatient clinical practice.
  • Participate in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, along with a dedicated team of advanced practice providers.
  • Contribute to service activities for the department, medical school, and the profession.
  • Inspire students and residents to pursue careers in urology/pediatric urology, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds in surgery.
  • Engage in research projects and academic activities as either a collaborator or an independent researcher.
  • Participate in faculty development activities aligned with personal career goals.
  • Actively engage in national organizations and foster an academic environment for students, residents, and faculty.
Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited ACGME Urology residency and Pediatric Urology fellowship.
  • Board eligible or certified in Pediatric Urology.
  • Demonstrated strong surgical skills and sensitivity to diverse patient needs.
  • Possess or be eligible for licensure from the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DEA certification in Minnesota.
  • Meet credentialing and privileges criteria.
  • Eligibility for work authorization in the U.S. and maintain legal status according to VISA requirements, if applicable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong team collaboration skills with a focus on patient service.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to education.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
Compensation and Benefits

This position is jointly employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. The total salary is competitive and aligned with AAMC benchmarks. Clinical salary, which corresponds to clinical responsibilities, is provided through M Physicians. The base salary range for this role is between $450,000 and $650,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and clinical effort. The salary from the University will reflect the academic contributions of the individual.
