Description
Under the direction of the Director, Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE), the Specialist, Faculty Development, supports faculty success through the design, delivery, and coordination of onboarding, training, and development initiatives, with a primary focus on Faculty Quality Assurance System (FQAS) requirements, instructional effectiveness, and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
Work is cross-functional and diverse. Challenging, high-volume environment requires multitasking skills, the ability to meet deadlines and deal with difficult situations. Receives limited supervision within a broad framework of standard policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education & Experience: A verification of education will be conducted if a candidate is selected for the position.
Associate's degree in education, curriculum, learning and development, or closely related field (e.g. instructional design, organizational leadership, educational technology, design experience, or educational Psychology) and;
At least three (3) years of relevant experience
Preferred Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or higher in education, curriculum, learning and development, or closely related field (e.g. instructional design, organizational leadership, educational technology, design experience, or educational Psychology)
and at least one (1) year of relevant experience..

Start Date: This position supports the Center for Teaching Excellence area and is available to start as soon as possible.
Hours: This position is a part-time position and works approximately 20 hours per week. This is a 100% on site/in person student facing position at our Milwaukee Downtown Campus. Must be able to work Monday thru Thursday from approximately 1 - 6 pm. (no exceptions). All work must be performed in the state of Wisconsin.
Note: This position is limited term and is subject to end on June 30, 2027. If additional funding is not secured the position may end.
Compensation: Hourly pay rates are listed up to the midpoint of the range and placement is determined based on years of experience, internal equity, and a review of the applicants employment and educational background as listed on the job application.

HEALTH INSURANCE: MATC offers a choice between two medical insurance plans. See below for plan types:

DENTAL INSURANCE: MATC offers a traditional group dental plan through Delta Dental.
Annual maximum per covered person is $2,500; plan covers preventive, routine, restoration, and orthodontics for dependents up to age 19.
GROUP TERM LIFE INSURANCE: MATC offers group life insurance benefits through Symetra Provident Insurance with active assignment and is fully paid for by the College. The amount of insurance is $15,000. The benefit is doubled in the event of accidental death.
RETIREMENT BENEFITS: If you are employed for greater than 12 months and meet the minimum hours requirement for participation in the WRS pension system, you will be notified of your eligibility. The College currently pays the full cost of the employer contribution (6.9%), and the employee pays the full part of the employee contribution of 6.9% of salary. There is a five year vesting period requirement in order to qualify for any employer contributions made on the employees behalf.
FLEXIBLE SPENDING PLANS: MATC offers eligible employees the opportunity to participate in both Health Care and Dependent Care flexible spending accounts administered through UMR.
SICK LEAVE BENEFITS: Sick leave hours granted based on hours worked in summary from 8/15 of previous year through 8/14 of current year. The maximum hours accumulation is 640 hours.
VACATION BENEFITS: Vacation hours granted based on hours worked summary from 3/15 of previous year through 3/14 of current year (Not available for Instructors)
PAID HOLIDAYS: MATC offers paid/flex holidays based on position.

This part-time position has a probationary period of twelve 12 months for new external hires to the college and six (6) months for internal candidates The person who is hired for this role would not be able to transfer into another role within the college until their probationary period is completed.
