Description of Position The faculty member is responsible for educating and preparing future nurses by providing clinical instruction. They play a critical role in shaping the next generation of nursing professionals, providing instruction and real-world application at the patient bedside. Reporting to the Dean of Health Sciences, the incumbent will teach discipline-specific clinical courses at offsite community facilities. Responsibilities will include course preparation and the use of Canvas learning management system to provide relevant, timely communication and grading feedback to the nurse clinical students on patient assessments. May be asked to teach other courses in disciplines in which she/he is able to be credentialed.

Responsibilities:
• Clinical Instruction: Leading discussions and providing regular and substantive interaction. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student growth and development. • Assessment and Evaluation: Evaluate students progress and competence. Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and assign grades. • Advising and Mentoring: Provide academic and career advising to nursing students. Mentor and guide students in their academic and professional development. • Service: Participate in departmental and college committees and activities. Engage in clinical partnerships. Contribute to the development of the nursing program and its continuous improvement. • Professional Development: Stay current with nursing practice, trends, and educational methodologies. Pursue opportunities for professional development. • Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the quality and consistency of the nursing program. Work with other healthcare professionals and organizations to enhance educational experience for students. • Compliance and Accreditation: Stay informed about and ensure compliance with accreditation (ACEN) and regulatory standards relevant to nursing education. Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation required for program accreditation.
This position requires excellent oral, written, and electronic communication. The incumbent will need to effectively foster collegial relationships both intra and interdepartmentally, model professional behaviors including involvement with/in professional organizations, and engage in lifelong learning.
General Expectations & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
Current unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona: Arizona State Board of Nursing.
Valid Arizona Drivers License.
Two (2) years of full-time work experience as a professional nurse.
Leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Experience with the MS Office Suite, the Internet, and email. Ability and willingness to learn new technologies.
Experience with online learning platforms and student management systems.
Preferred Skills & Abilities
Work experience in a community college/higher education work environment.
