Minimum Salary $62,173.25
Salary offer commensurate with education and related work experience.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include working days, evenings and/or weekends.
May require travel to our main campus in Alvin and/or to various offsite locations, including local high schools in Alvin, Danbury, Manvel and Pearland and to Texas Department of Criminal Justice facilities in Richmond, Rosharon or Lake Jackson. Fingerprinting is a requirement for Dual Enrollment Instructors who teach at local area ISDs per Texas Education Agency. Alvin College will reimburse the estimated cost of $50, if applicable.
Requires the provision of official transcripts and/or certifications within (30) days of hire.
Applicants with academic credentials from non-U.S. accredited institutions are required to have their coursework evaluated in terms of U.S. "equivalency." All international credential evaluations must be conducted by one of the companies affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES) in order to be considered for a faculty position. Applicants bear the responsibility of requesting, paying associated fees, and obtaining an original transcript evaluation for submission to the Office of Human Resources. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The full-time Automotive Technology Instructor will primarily provide hands-on instruction in all areas of automotive repair and maintenance for adult learners within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) at the Jester 3 Unit in Richmond, Texas. This position supports workforce development and reentry efforts by preparing students with the technical knowledge, industry certifications, and employability skills needed for success in the automotive field. The instructor will deliver curriculum aligned with state and college standards, ensure a safe and productive learning environment, and collaborate with TDCJ staff and college administrators to maintain compliance with institutional and facility guidelines. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, demonstrated expertise in automotive systems, and a commitment to student growth, rehabilitation, and professional excellence.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent typically works in classroom and lab environments and uses computers, machinery, and instructional tools. The incumbent may be expected to deliver industry-based courses at physical locations away from the main campus (companies, AC West, etc.). Noise level is typical of automotive shop setting, so precautions should be taken to protect hearing. The temperature level in the work environment is typical of that of an unairconditioned classroom/automotive shop. The instructor must be aware of and enforce all safety protocols.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle tools or equipment. Must be able to lift to fifty (30) pounds and work in a physically active environment.
