GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Kirkwood Community College seeks a skilled and student-centered individual to join the Industrial Technologies department as an Advanced Manufacturing Faculty member supporting both the Welding and CNC Machining Technology programs. This position is academically aligned with the broader Industrial Technologies department and supports curriculum, assessment, and student success initiatives across both academic programs.
The primary teaching assignment for this position will be at the Jones Regional Education Center in Monticello, Iowa. Instruction may include secondary students, postsecondary students, adult learners, and workforce training participants depending on program needs. Teaching responsibilities may include coursework in welding, fabrication, machining, CNC programming and operation, blueprint reading, manufacturing safety, and related industrial technologies content areas.
The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty across campuses and locations to ensure alignment of curriculum, assessments, student learning outcomes, and industry expectations. Instruction may occur mornings, afternoons, evenings, online, hybrid, or at additional campus or partner locations based on departmental needs.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, the faculty member will support departmental initiatives related to curriculum development, assessment of student learning, student advising, industry engagement, regional partnerships, and continuous program improvement.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:
Position involves occasional (10-33%) sitting and constant (67-100%) standing in a classroom/laboratory setting. Constant (67-100%) reaching, walking, lifting, dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and viewing various types of visual work, and perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture. Frequent (34-66%) stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying, and visualizing three-dimensions from a two-dimensional medium. Exerting up to 50-100 pounds occasionally. May travel to other on-campus facilities, off-campus facilities and agencies to teach, attend meetings, etc.
