Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain all assigned machinery and equipment in good running order.
- Ensure the safe, economical operation of the plant.
- Carry out management orders in the operation of the building.
- Complete work orders as assigned and report progress and completion in the automated work order system.
- Ensure safety for employees, students, and visitors through procedure compliance, on-site inspection, and training.
- Attend training and seminars to enhance engineering knowledge.
- Identify energy conservation measures and collaborate with engineering staff for implementation.
- Participate in the ongoing review and revision of engineering procedures and practices.
- Perform other tasks related to the mission of the company, the work of the physical resources department, and the responsibilities of an engineer.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2 years of experience managing facilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Working knowledge or hands-on experience in maintenance, operation, and repair of steam boilers, electricity and electrical distribution systems, plumbing and piping systems, internal combustion engines, pumps, air compressors, generators, ice machines, air-conditioning units, chillers (centrifugal and screw type), cooling towers, air handling units, variable frequency drives, and building automation systems (pneumatic and direct digital control).
- Working knowledge of an automated work order system.
- Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems Siemens and Johnson Controls.
- Experience in ordering supplies, work order management systems, and proficiency in Word and Excel (ability to maintain complex spreadsheets).
- Ability to read and work off blueprints and schematics.
- Able to drive company-owned vehicles without restrictions.
