The Position
The City of Maple Grove is seeking Facility/Site Supervisors! The Parks & Recreation facility/site supervisors are responsible for creating a safe and welcoming environment for visitors of the City of Maple Grove. They provide oversight of of planned programs, activities, and rentals while delivering quality customer service in the areas of supervision, and facility monitoring.
Hours are part-time, vary between Monday-Friday; evenings-Saturday-Sunday; days
and evenings.
During ISD 279 Holiday Breaks and Summer Break: Monday-Friday 9:30am-10pm

Responsibilities
- Welcomes visitors to the park and respond to questions.
- Provides on-site direction of Central Park functions, to Guest Services staff.
- Ensures security, safety, and emergency procedures including opening/closing the facility, operating the POS system, monitoring compliance with park regulations, and responding to severe weather.
- Responds promptly to accidents and emergencies following established procedures.
- Completes required reports and written communications accurately and on time.
- Ensures restrooms, facilities, and park areas are clean, safe, and orderly.
- Supports the Recreation Facilities Supervisor with training and provides direction part-time staff.
- Oversees on-site activities, ensuring safety, appropriate conduct, and compliance with park rules. Provides visitor education on regulations and expectations.
- Supports maintenance staff with snow removal and waste management to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
- Assists with room rental setups and supports ongoing rental operations to ensure spaces are prepared according to specifications and policies. Provides support and direction to Guest Services staff, offering guidance on daily operations and customer service.
- Handles skate rental operations, ensuring proper procedures, customer safety, and policy compliance.
- Performs other related duties as apparent or assigned.
Ability to:
- Organize and prioritize work effectively.
- Operate a cash register and perform basic math functions.
- Maintains mental and emotional capacity that allows for effective interaction and communication with staff and visitors.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and resolve complex or unique customer service and safety issues.
- Lead and direct emergency management procedures and responses.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
Qualifications
Need to have:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Two years experience working with the public, including cash handling responsibilities.
- Must have a valid Minnesota Drivers license.
Nice to have:
- Basic computer and math skills
- Prior facility supervision and/or crowd control experience
- Experience with sports equipment and facility set-up and take down
- Prior supervisory experience
