IDR is seeking a Facility Operation Lead to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Buffalo, NY. This role involves overseeing critical data center infrastructure, ensuring operational reliability, and managing emergency and maintenance procedures. The company is a leader in the data center industry, committed to maintaining high standards of facility operations and infrastructure integrity.

Position Overview for the Facility Operation Lead:

  • Serve as the on-site subject matter expert for data center critical infrastructure, including power and cooling systems.
  • Handle escalations related to the white space and supporting facilities, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Audit and verify maintenance programs of colocation partners and service providers.
  • Own and manage change control processes for high-risk maintenance activities.
  • Act as the primary on-site responder for incidents, collaborating with engineering and infrastructure teams to resolve issues efficiently.

Requirements for the Facility Operation Lead:

  • Experience operating or leading critical-facilities operations in a live data center environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the critical infrastructure stack, particularly power and cooling systems.
  • Proven experience in managing change processes for high-risk maintenance work.
  • Ability to act calmly and effectively as a first responder during emergencies at odd hours.
  • Experience auditing, documenting, and improving facility operational procedures.
