FLSA: Non-Exempt Employment Type: Full- Time Location: Greer, SC Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor VPET is sarching for a Maintenance that will perform or assist in executions of minor repairs that might include the following: Carpentry, Plumbing, Interior painting, refurbishing and cleaning of all equipment, on the building, utility or machinery. The Maintenance Worker will assist the lead and other maintenance techs in assigned tasks as needed. Essential Responsibilities: - Inspect all equipment and repair jobs daily.
- Record keeping on repair logs and work orders daily.
- Oversee all assigned work is conducted in a safe and timely manner.
- Repair building systems and utilities as assigned.
- Support offices staff as assigned.
- Change-out of equipment to accommodate new product runs when requested or when necessary.
- Ensure that lock-out/tag-out is utilized when equipment is being repaired or is not functional.
- Maintain parts inventory for emergency repairs.
- Maintain and organize parts inventory and keep the maintenance work area clean.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements: - Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Mechanical ability i.e., familiarity with tools and machinery.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal/written.
- Must be committed to the success of the entire organization.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
- Must be self-motivated, with ability to work both independently and in a team with constant changing priorities.
- Forklift experience required. Must provide current proof of certification.
Physical Requirements: Requirements include, but are not limited to: - Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to push, pull, twist, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl.
- Will require repetitive motions such as reaching and grasping.
- Work environment is in a warehouse and temperatures inside vary between hot or cold based on the outside conditions.
- Working outdoors may be required depending on projects.
Education/Experience: - High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ year of experience in similar role.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, welding, mechanical and plumbing repair is a plus.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
