JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision performs maintenance and repairs of equipment throughout the plant that may involve various trades including, trouble shooting, mechanical repair, minor electrical repairs/installations, welding, carpentry, and preventative maintenance and other job duties as required

JOB DUTIES:

  • knowledgeable about plant equipment, machinery and processes
  • General repair work on building and physical structures
  • Under general supervision will trouble shoot and resolve mechanical issues on equipment
  • Communicates and provides feedback to supervision on issues related to downtime and repairs
  • Will perform minor electrical repairs/installations under general supervisions
  • Cleans and rebuilds parts and equipment as needed to support the manufacturing process
  • Informs lead of parts needed to maintain inventory levels
  • Ability to do job duties in a timely manner
  • Handle special projects as required
  • Report to supervisor through-out the day on issues that might arise
  • Promote and practice safe work habits within department
  • Ability to work from electrical schematics, diagrams, sketches, verbal instruction and rough outlines
  • Follows guidelines on proper lock out and tag out procedures
  • Follows 5s principals and policies

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years maintenance experience
  • Possess basic principles, methods and techniques related to machine repair in an industrial facility
  • General knowledge of electrical and safe work practices in an industrial environment
  • Ability to perform walking, standing, sitting, bending, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work around dust, chemical, fumes and fiberglass particles
  • Manual dexterity
  • Have good quality & safety habits
  • Have good attendance habits
  • Ability to drive forklifts, tractors, and scissor lift
