If you're a skilled technician who takes pride in keeping a facility running smoothly, Lincoln Tech in South Plainfield, NJ wants to hear from you. We're looking for a dependable, hands-on Facilities & Transportation Technician to help maintain a safe, well-functioning campus environment for our students and staff. This role is a great fit for someone who knows their way around a building, can diagnose and repair a variety of maintenance tasks, and holds a clean driving record.

What You'll Do as a Facilities & Transportation Technician:

  • Perform general facility maintenance and repairs including plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, electrical, drywall, painting, doors, windows, locks, and flooring
  • Conduct monthly preventative maintenance and safety inspections of buildings, equipment, and machinery
  • Monitor and maintain fire safety systems, smoke detectors, and HVAC units in compliance with OSHA standards
  • Patrol campus grounds, manage building access, and monitor CCTV systems
  • Serve as a first responder for alarms and emergencies, liaising with emergency services and providing first aid when necessary
  • Set up and break down rooms for events, move equipment, and support classroom and office reconfigurations
  • Maintain clean and orderly common areas, manage waste and recycling, and assist with seasonal exterior upkeep
  • Respond to work orders promptly and after-hours maintenance calls as needed
  • Safely transport students between our adjacent parking facility and campus
  • Manage inventory control and tracking

What You'll Bring:

  • Hands-on experience in facilities maintenance, building trades, or as a porter or handyman
  • Ability to diagnose issues and determine the best repair method
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and fire safety compliance
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 75 lbs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
