Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs typical maintenance tasks to support the assembly floor and the entire facility.
  • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machinery and the building or grounds as required.

Education and Experience:

  • High school or tech school education and 3 years of factory related experience in a maintenance environment.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to perform but not limited to the following skills: carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical (assist the facilities electrician), machine repair, plant layout, painting, and janitorial.
  • Required to be familiar with and use all hand tools and power tools common to the skills listed and be well versed in the disciplines mentioned above.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, sketches, O.E.M. instructions and specifications.
  • Must feel comfortable with working in a team environment consisting of HARCO employees and outside contractors.
  • Required to use considerable judgment when performing and planning to perform his/her tasks.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Training Requirements:

  • General Safety.
  • Lock-out Tag-out.
  • HAZMAT.
  • Forklift Safety.
  • Electrostatic Discharge Awareness.
  • Foreign Object Damage Awareness.
  • Quality System Awareness.

Physical Demands:

  • Some heavy lifting and considerable moving of equipment required.
  • Lifting of objects up to 100 lbs.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Safety Glasses required while performing certain tasks.

Work Environment:

  • Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments, and shop environments.
  • Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise. Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

For this position, the base pay is set at $24.00/ hour, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
