POSITION SUMMARY

The Facilities Projects & Services Supervisor leads and oversees facility-related projects, manage contract and vendor services. The ideal candidate is someone with a strong background in construction, facilities operations, and contractor coordination/management who can ensure projects and services are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of facilities management principles including maintenance, repair, and operation of buildings and building systems [HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, elevators, grounds operations etc.].
  • Knowledge of building construction and design including building codes, permits, safety standards, and construction processes and materials.
  • Ability to effectively read and analyze blueprints.
  • Skill in process and project management.
  • Skill in contract and vendor management.
  • Skill in customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and with coworkers in a wide variety of situations with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to use all technology applicable to the essential functions of the job and commonly used by the Library.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages vendors, contractors, and outside service providers effectively; sets expectations and holds them accountable, as required.
  • Manages project details surrounding building systems, properties and grounds, and refresh and routine replacement renovation projects.
  • Analyze and assist in property management strategy, tactical objectives, and planning for deployment of resources. Responsible for maintaining documentation and cross-departmental coordination of activities.
  • Collaborates with engineers, architects, contractors, and internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Supports the bidding and procurement process, ensuring compliance with public bidding requirements.
  • Participates in and provides subject matter expertise in capital project planning and execution.
  • Acts as the liaison for landlord in Library leased spaces related to property management
  • Oversees budgets and resources effectively and efficiently; knows and understands organization's financial position.
  • Adds value as a key member of Facilities; understands the organization, financials, industry, customers, and strategy
  • Adheres to Library policies and procedures and gives input for process improvements.
  • Supports and advances the Library's mission of connecting people with the world of ideas and information.
  • Embraces and embodies the Library's core beliefs, strategic priorities and pillars of excellence.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High School Diploma (or equivalent) or technical/trade school certification is required. Bachelor''s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering or relevant discipline is preferred.
  • Certifications or licensure: A driver''s license and a driving record acceptable to the Library''s insurance provider are required.
  • Years of relevant experience: Five or more years is required.
  • Years of experience supervising: Two or more years is required.

Salary

Grade 11: $77,188 - $96,491 (based on experience)
