Responsibilities

  • Develop clear project scopes, gather and compare contractor quotes, and prepare comprehensive capital expenditure documentation.
  • Create concise one‑page project summaries and present proposals to leadership in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct daily check‑ins with contractors on site to review work progress, address issues, and ensure alignment with project plans.
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and verify that contractors and internal teams follow all safety requirements and procedures.
  • Coordinate closely with internal teams including Facilities, Maintenance, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Engineering, and Capital Accounting to support project planning and execution.
  • Maintain accurate project tracking and status reporting using Excel, PowerPoint, and basic reporting tools.
  • Support the prioritization and execution of multiple concurrent projects, balancing timelines, resources, and budget constraints.
  • Answer technical questions from leadership and stakeholders related to power sources, water requirements, floor space, structural considerations, and other facility needs during project reviews.
  • Manage daily site activities, including contractor schedules, access, and adherence to facility standards and safety protocols.
  • Assist with infrastructure‑related tasks, including water treatment systems, electrical systems, compressed air systems, and other large‑scale facility infrastructure as needed.
  • Contribute to estimating and construction management activities to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Document project progress, key decisions, and outcomes to support continuous improvement in facilities and construction management processes.

Essential Skills

  • Strong project management experience in construction, remodels, or facility renovations, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proven ability to manage capital projects with scopes up to approximately $700K.
  • Experience coordinating contractors and overseeing daily site activities in an active facility environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver concise project summaries to leadership.
  • Ability to answer technical questions during leadership reviews related to power sources, water needs, floor space, structural considerations, and other facility requirements.
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and general office software for tracking, reporting, and presenting project information.
  • Comfort working in a large, complex manufacturing environment and collaborating with cross‑functional teams such as Facilities, Maintenance, EHS, Engineering, and Capital Accounting.
  • Knowledge of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and safety compliance practices in construction and facilities projects.
  • Experience in facilities maintenance, construction, construction management, and estimating within industrial or manufacturing settings.
  • Ability to work effectively in environments involving electrical systems, remodeling activities, and manufacturing operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • AutoCAD experience is helpful for reviewing and updating facility layouts and project drawings, though it is not required.
  • Electrical experience is highly valuable, particularly for work involving aging infrastructure and power distribution systems.
  • Experience working in manufacturing or industrial facilities and understanding the unique requirements of these environments.
  • Familiarity with water treatment systems, compressed air systems, and large‑scale infrastructure commonly found in industrial facilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when developing scopes, estimates, and capital expenditure documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and adapt communication style for technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Comfort interpreting construction documents, basic structural considerations, and facility plans.
  • Commitment to safety, risk management, and adherence to facility policies and procedures.

Work Environment

This role operates within a large, complex manufacturing facility that includes active production areas, ongoing construction and remodeling activities, and aging infrastructure systems. The Facilities Project Manager spends time both in office settings using Excel, PowerPoint, and general office software, and in the plant or field coordinating contractors, reviewing JHAs, and monitoring daily site activities. Work involves regular interaction with Facilities, Maintenance, EHS, Engineering, and Capital Accounting teams, as well as external contractors and vendors. Projects may include work on electrical systems, water treatment systems, compressed air systems, and other critical infrastructure, requiring attention to safety protocols and facility access procedures.
