As a Facilities Operator, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of critical facilities equipment at one of Teslas most advanced manufacturing facilities. Your role will involve monitoring and operating utility systems to guarantee uninterrupted production while upholding Teslas high standards for safety, efficiency, and sustainability. You will have the opportunity to contribute to world-class operational practices that drive energy efficiency and minimize environmental impact, working closely with system experts to continuously enhance these systems.
Operate and monitor utility equipment using control systems, ensuring optimal performance and verifying system trends. Systems include:
Review, manage, and respond to Building Management Systems (BMS) alarms and out-of-spec conditions, collaborating with engineering teams to rationalize alarms and document changes. Execute equipment startup, shutdown, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, adjusting processes based on operational needs and alarm responses. Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and alarm cards following system design or specification changes, coordinating with engineering for review.
Act as the point of contact for ongoing process occurrences, working cross-functionally with teams such as Manufacturing Engineering, Construction, Security, EHS, and Contractors. Improve equipment and system reliability through collaboration with teammates and facilities engineers, working from schematics and P&ID diagrams. Utilize the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to monitor equipment status, create work orders, and escalate major issues to the engineering team.
