Position Summary Primary Purpose of Role: The primary purpose of the Facilities Manager is to directly supervise and coordinate the activities of the maintenance department and to perform direct or contract the work necessary to keep the equipment and facilities in proper order.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the maintenance of the building, grounds, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Installs, moves, repairs, and removes equipment and utilities within the building.
  • Keeps in compliance with and abreast of all OSHA regulations.
  • Contracts with and supervises all outside contractors.
  • Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services, and facility expansion.
  • Plans budgets and schedules facility modifications, including cost estimates.
  • Responsible for preventative maintenance of facility equipment, including HVAC, office equipment, etc.
  • Responsible for the Telecommunication Function.
  • Provides employee performance data for upper management evaluation.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain housekeeping at and around the department.
  • Apply 6S principles to all areas of the plant.
  • Wear all personal protective equipment necessary to task and area.
  • Follow all quality systems and Client operating procedures as applies to certifications, duties, and training matrix.
  • Follow all Client rules and regulations, including safety rules.
  • Perform any other duties deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Associates degree with technical training in plant engineering or factory/plant maintenance preferred.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years progressive experience and responsibility in a maintenance field, two of which were holding a supervisory position directing a multi-functional maintenance team in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitudes and a working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to define problems and resolve them quickly; work well with ever-changing priorities and/or situations; and be a self-starter who can work well with people at all levels, both in and out of the facility.
  • Requires strong supervisory skills coupled with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and OSHA regulations.
  • Knowledgeable with all current health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
