Your new role

As Operations / Facilities Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day operational performance of a flagship retail shopping centre. You will ensure the asset is maintained to the highest standards, delivering a safe, compliant, and welcoming environment for tenants, customers, and staff.

This is a highly visible role where you will lead all aspects of facilities management, working closely with internal stakeholders and external contractors to protect and enhance the asset's value.

Key responsibilities will include:

Overseeing all facilities and operational functions across the shopping centre
Managing service contracts including security, cleaning, landscaping, and maintenance providers
Ensuring full compliance with health & safety regulations, statutory requirements, and environmental standards
Leading and coordinating planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
Preparing and managing operational budgets and monitoring expenditure
Conducting regular site inspections to maintain high standards across the asset
Supporting retailer fit-outs and refurbishments, ensuring projects are delivered smoothly
Managing emergency procedures and responding to incidents when required
Collaborating with property management and asset management teams to support overall centre performance

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced facilities or operations professional with a strong background in retail or commercial property environments.

You will ideally have:

Proven experience in facilities or operations management within retail, shopping centres, or similar environments
Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and compliance requirements
Experience managing contractors, service providers, and large-scale service contracts
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
The ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively
Strong leadership and communication skills with a proactive, hands-on approach
Experience with building systems, maintenance planning, and operational best practices
Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. IOSH/NEBOSH) are highly desirable
